Yes, you can as long as your Denon device has a remote capable of 'learning' discrete IR codes. (Many do, but you'll need to check the owner's manual to see if your remote has a 'learning' feature)

There are two methods of programming your Denon remote to use with other manufacturer's devices.

-The first method is to program a manufacturer's preset IR code into the remote using the 'List of Preset Codes' found in the back of your owner's manual. Newer models, like the '11 and '12 series receivers, have a preset IR code database within their OSD or GUI menu. Once you have the preset code you're looking for, simply follow the step by step instructions from the owner's manual for programming. As some remotes differ, the method of programming will differ so it is important to follow the instructions from your model's manual. Preset codes should program your Denon remote for most, it not all, of the device's functions. However, depending on the commands in the preset, not all functions may work for that particular device.
-The second method of programming would entail 'learning' a discrete IR command from the device's remote into the Denon remote. Learning a command is accomplished when facing both remotes by their IR windows, holding the button you want to learn on the Denon remote, and then pressing the button to emit the IR command from the device's remote. As with the first method, there is a step by step procedure detailed in your owner's manual in order to setup your Denon remote for learning an IR command. Also, like the first method, the procedure may differ when using a different model Denon remote so please check your models owner's manual for specific instructions. In addition, not all device's remotes will be compatible to learn with Denon remotes as they may use an IR frequency that the Denon is not compatible with.
In either case, the advantages are obvious. You don't need an entire coffee table full of remotes to operate your home theater system. You only need to keep track of the Denon remote to enjoy all the technology at your fingertips.

Depending on the model and year of manufacture of your device, some buttons may not operate. In this case, try “Registering by entering preset numbers” link.
Before starting, confirm the preset number of the device that you want to register and the buttons that can be registered in the “Preset Code Table” link in the Appendix.
Press and hold down the input source button that you want to register the preset code to and SETUP until the DEV, TV and AVR indicators are flashing green.
Enter the preset number (5 digits) listed for the device in the Preset Code Table using the number buttons (0 – 9) on the remote control.
Some manufacturers use more than one type of preset code. Preset codes to change the number and verify correct operation.
Depending on the model and year of manufacture of your device, some buttons may not operate.
